Slab Benches

I build slab benches for people who want real, heavy wood seating that feels solid the moment you sit down. Every bench starts as a thick slab, not glued-up scraps, so you get those bold grain patterns, natural edges, and a weight that keeps the bench steady, whether it lives by your front door or around the dining table.
You can choose how you want your bench to work in your space. For indoor slab benches, I focus on smooth surfaces and clean lines that fit nicely in entryways, dining rooms, or at the end of a bed. I sand each piece by hand until it feels good to the touch, then finish it so it stands up to daily use, backpacks, and muddy boots. For outdoor slab benches, I build with durability in mind. I select sturdy stock, use strong joinery, and apply a weather-resistant finish, so the bench can handle sun, light rain, and everyday outdoor life. These make great spots to sit while you pull off garden gloves or watch kids play, and the natural wood brings warmth to porches, patios, and fire pit areas.
If you like a farmhouse or cabin look, I can lean into a rustic feel with chunkier legs, live edges, and more of the wood's natural character left in. If you prefer a cleaner style, I can keep things more refined. Either way, you are not locked into a standard size. I offer custom-size slab benches, so you can match a specific wall, tuck one under a table, or fit a tricky nook that store-bought benches never suit.
Before I start, you and I talk through where the bench will go, the look you like, and any special details. From there, I build a slab bench meant to be used every day, not just admired in photos.
